We are always delighted to discuss with you the possibility of getting married in one of the three churches in the Benefice. Whatever your circumstances and whatever you might have heard or believe about whether or not you can get married in church, please do get in touch with the Rector who will be happy to chat with you informally about your plans. Should you decide to go ahead she will then meet with you to complete the necessary paperwork, usually after a Sunday service.
Each of our churches offers its own character and personality for your special day; take a look the individual church pages where you’ll find photographs and more information to help you in deciding whether a wedding with us is for you. St Mary’s Shackleford is the largest of the three so if you’re going to invite lots of guests that’s a good venue for you; St Nicholas’ Peper Harow has a light, modern, airy feel whilst at the same time there’s no mistaking that it’s an ancient building steeped in prayer; St Nicholas’ Compton is pretty, full of ancient character, has been prayed in for a thousand years and has seen many joyful wedding days in its history. We think that all three are beautiful in their own way.
This link will take you to the Church of England website www.yourchurchwedding.org where there’s a lot of very helpful information including details of how to find a church that suits you, information on fees and some ideas about planning your service.
